Best Choice Software’s Market Timer’s Software Revised Version 28-Apr-08.
The newest version of Best Choice 4.1, 4.1.6, is meant to address some major fixes and enhancements that have been recent issues. We recently added the capabilities to expand the number of moving averages display on both the short- and long-term charts from three to four. In addition, instead of just being able to select simple or exponential moving averages only for the entire group, you can now elect a simple or moving average for each line that you graph. Here is a sample of the resultant screen. Note that the legend for the colors of the lines graphed is displayed to the right of the Volume information. In this example, the 10-day exponential average appears as a light-blue line, the 20-day simple moving average appears as a red line, the 50-day simple moving average as a yellow line and the 200-day simple moving average as a green line on long- and/or short-term |

charts. These can be set by selecting the Program

Note the added color legend for the moving averages so that one can readily determine the average type by the color of the line. Charts with moving averages: long-term chart above; short-term chart follows. |

We have also improved the retention of pivot points when scrolling through the short term charts. They no longer disappear if the dates are moving backward and forward using the scroll bar and/or day before or day after buttons. |

In order to make the program a little more user-friendly, we added the directions in the Indicator Settings and the on the Stock Search Wizard. The latter is to remind the user to download the most recent data and then carry out the re-indexing process on that data in preparation for using the wizard. This is illustrated below: |

We have removed the Scroll bar, arrow buttons and time-frame drop-down from the Seasonal charts as they are not applicable to the data displayed in those charts. We have changed the labels on tab 2 to be more accurate – rather than Prof[it]$ and Prof[it]%, these are now PtMov [Point Move] and %Move [Percent Move] – as the previous terminology is not appropriate for all types of securities handled by the Best Choice program. The Internet Links menu choices now include a direct link to Think or Swim. Some column titles were truncated in the options display table. We shortened some of them so that what is displayed is more meaningful. The Exit Stops button on the Program Options interface has been relabeled to reflect the fact that these stops are just for short-term investing: |

New features have been added to the Program Settings choices and some check boxes have been moved: |

Some users prefer to share the user lists or stock transactions or files recently viewed that they create with other users on the same computer. The default is to keep this information with the individual user but the last three check boxes in the right column, as illustrated to our left, also allow these three items to be shared. Pick the setting that is right for you. Check to share. Remove check to keep separate. Then left-click on the Save Program Options button.
In case Excel® is located in a special folder (directory), we have now added the ability to reset the directory to the correct one for the user’s computer. |
Some bugs in the data editing feature have been corrected. The controls are accessed via the View Data icon:

This was an older portion of the program and as new exchanges were added to the program some were not added to this portion of the program. Also some other small bugs were fixed in this area of the program. |

The previous numbering system for the videos was very confusing, especially since some videos were inserted between numbers and we had items like 8a and 8b and 9b and 9c; somehow 9a was skipped, etc. We did not change the names of the files but the menu choices now have #1 and #2 which are the videos that are now included with the Demo version so the new users can see how to license their computers. The videos on trading topics have the letters A to T. B is grayed out as it is still under development. |
