The Scrollbar

The scroll bar is used to select a chart time frame. The right red arrow removes one day to the right of the chart. The right blue arrow adds one day to the right side of the chart. The left red arrow adds one day from the left of the chart. The left blue arrow removes one day from the left of the chart. The left yellow arrow adds one day to the left of the chart and deletes one day from the right side of the chart. The right yellow arrow adds one day to the right side of the chart and deletes on day from the left side of the chart.

The center scroller will select a new start and end date, but it will keep the same time length. If you change the time frame from the menu drop down list, it will change the size of the scroller block. The full distance between the 2 yellow arrows represents the total time length of data history for the stock. The length of the scroller block represents the size of the time frame selected in relation to the total time length of data. If a smaller time frame is selected, the block will become smaller. For example, if you changed from a six-month time frame to a 3-month time frame, the scroller block will be half the length, and that 3 month size will be in proportion to the total length of time available on that stock
