Short Term Stock Information
The short-term stock information legend is located on the right of the chart. The User list, Sort By and User List stocks are explained in the Long-term stock information (see long term stock information). Each short-term chart has 4 tabs of data.
Tab 1
|
The first tab shows the Symbol, whether the stock has Options or Leaps, and the stock name. Below that is a filter "Choice" list box using a dropdown window (See filter conditions). The next 2 text boxes show the Buy Stop price and Sell Short Stop price if the chart shows that it is a decision day. These will be Day Orders Only stops to enter a position. If a long trade is underway, the top text box will show Bought and the price at which you should have been filled. If a short trade is underway, like in this example, the 2nd text box will show Sold Short and the price at which you should have been filled. The next 2 text boxes show the Risk in $ and the Risk in % on the decision day. Once the trade is underway they will be blank. The next textbox is the exit stop value. On a decision day, this will be empty because you have no trade on. If you are long, it will show a Sell stop value that should be placed Good until cancelled. If you are short, it will show a Buy Stop value that should be placed Good until cancelled. Each day as the trade progresses, you will be moving your stop according to this box and replacing the good until cancelled stop. We suggest a Good Until Cancelled stop as opposed to a Day Order Only stop, because after the first day, unless you replace it, you have no protection to an adverse move. |
The Current Trade textbox will show you how much profit (green text) or loss (red text) you have in the trade. If it is a decision day, it is blank. The Last Trade textbox will show the last profit or loss. The Buy & Hold textbox shows what the profit or loss would be if you bought at the beginning of the time frame and sold it at the end of the time frame. This can be compared to the Trading textbox, which shows what the profit or loss would be for trading over the displayed time frame.
Immediately below the textbox, messages occasionally occur. The possible messages are "Gap Open", "Inside Day", or "Outside Day". These messages refer to the day's candlestick.
The Button with the $ will allow you to enter your trade in the accounting package. It is normally entered on the day after the decision day and it is closed out on the day that shows you were stopped out.
Finally, the green Excellent 4.85 textbox shows the rating and the win/loss ratio of the stock. The ratings do not take into account the current trade underway.

Tab 2 shows more statistics on the stock. The tab shows the number of Daily bars, the win/loss ratio, the number of trades, the number of winners and number of losers. The win percentage is the total number of winners divided by the total number of trades. The average win $ is the total dollars won divided by the total winning trades. The average loss $ is the total dollars lost divided by the total losing trades. The largest win $ and largest loss $ are self-explanatory. The average win % is the total winning summation divided by the total winning purchase price summation. The average loss % is the total loosing summation divided by the total losing purchase price summation. The Avg Profit/Trade$ is the summation of the profit/loss of all trades divided by the number of trades. The Avg Profit/Trade% is the summation of the profit/loss of all trades divided by the summation of the purchase price of the trade. |
